Why do Christians only have faith in their own Prophets and not people like Nostradamus?

some people are very accurate prophets of the future but Christians say they are evil yet they (Christians) stand up and prophesy in their churches none of which comes true..

I have been to church so many times and had some person come up to me a prophecy, none of them have come true.

.I went and seen a a lady who read my palms and told me what will happen in my future all of which has come true...on my next visit to church they told me she is evil and works for the devil.. does the devil know what is happening in our lives more then god.. and why do they seem so hypocritical, their prophecy's don't even come true.

Why do Christians only have faith in their own Prophets and not people like Nostradamus?
To the Person with the last reply:

I just have a question. Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus was the last prophet? It seems to me that people refer to many Christians as weirdos because Christians do not act according to the likeness of man, but to the scriptures. Psalms 33:2-3 tells us to Sing unto Him, Psalms 134.2 says to lift our hands and bless the lord, Psalms 149:1-4 tells us to dance. Most importantly, in 1st Corinthians 14 The apostle Paul specifically tells us to desire spiritual gifts. ESPECIALLY the gift of prophesy. For anyone who considers themselves a Christian, these words should be important and true to you, since the Word of God = Truth. Why would he tell us to desire this gift if Jesus was the last prophet. Paul Also tells us in 1 Corinthians 14: 5 " I would like every one of you to speak in tounges, but I would rather have you prophesy"

Does anyone here use scripture for explanation????

So, for those of you who are worried about the people in this forum calling you crazy, you are obviously worshipping the wrong thing. Man is being put first in your life and not God, for if it were the contrary, nothing would be questioned.
Reply:If you have non-Christians being able to prophesy, then what else might the non-Christians be wrong about?

THAT'S the question that people are afraid to bring up in church.....
Reply:Hi, we're Nasrani Christians (India - Australia) -- we believe the last prophet was Jesus -- no other prophets after him can tell the future --- we know a bit about the weird christians in USA - they can not prophecy - its all fake -- they say everyone else is satanic, just as in jesus time the Pharasees said that jesus was under satan ---- you want a comparison like one of the true christian groups in USA like the Amish, you wont find them trying any fake prophecy stuff --- nor churches similar to ours called orthodox --- it sems to be a thing in USA - all the bad weird strange churches -- please dont judge all christians by the noisy weirdos with their fake prophecies -- all the best -- have a good day
Reply:Maybe because "prophets" like Nostradamus have a less-than-perfect record of their predictions coming true. The Bible prophets like, Daniel, Isaiah, and Jeremiah, are right 100% of the time.
Reply:I got a question for you, did you put as much Faith in what the Christian phophesized as what the palm reader told you?

Seek and ye shall find. That means what you look for you will find, if you are looking for negative you will find negative.

As for me and my house we will serve the LORD.
Reply:It is said very clearly in the Bible that Christian MUST NOT consult medium, astrologists and occultist. Mr Nostadamus was not a prophet, but a conman (yes, there was record about him conning the royal family) and witch (the way he looked the future was occultic).
Reply:They prefer the ancient wackos over the more current ones.
Reply:They are brainwashed! Their programing does not allow them to use logic to solve issues or problems in their life. They have an opinion on how to read a certain book and that is all they need to get them through life. They do not seek truth or listen to opinions that do not fit the mold of their programing. They have an agenda through their programing which makes them use scare tactics to help their organization recruit and keep members active and willing to serve the organizations best financial interests. They do not read other books that use geneology to determine the bloodlines and connections between supposed authors of their book of laws and actual people who existed. They are slaves to a hive mentality that can not survive without majority rule and will perform rituals inorder to keep their state of mind free of logic and question. there are passages in their book that forbid them to research certain subjects because the controlers of the organization know exactly what their main character really is a metaphor for and if the members of that orginazation found out they would no longer be able to profit from their mind controlled slaves.!
Reply:Certain simple predictions are possible for Satan and other intelligent invisible beings who know in advance of mankind what will become technologically possible for mankind in the future provided that mankind survives and prospers on the earth - so people like nostradamus could receive predictions about future techology from Satan and his evil allies...

Other forms of prediction could not be made merely by a superior knowledge of science...

This is based on a true story. I'd really like to find this book. Any help is much appreicated.

I can't remember the name of this book!! HELP?
Yeh it's called "The Illiad" written by Homer.

How do I know if he is just being a flirty friend or if he is flirting with me?

Ok these guy and me are good friends and everything but here lately he has been flirting alot more, like he called me his lady luck the other night and today he touched my face and just left his hand there, and when i grabbed his hand he strached my palm with him finger. I don't know what to think! Please Help!

How do I know if he is just being a flirty friend or if he is flirting with me?
Pysical contact is always a sign of flirting and i figure you liked it (hopefully). the best way to tell if he's flirting with you or just being flirty is to see how he is around other females. If its normal behavior dont think much about it. If its out of the box for him...i'd take that as a sign that he might be feelin you.. If all else fails just ask.. "Whats up wit you?"
Reply:Well, maybe he likes you but dont get your signals crossed because guys are complicated especially guy friends, they'll flirt with you when they get horny but when they find someone hotter, they leave you like a bag of sh*t. Trust me, I had a best guyfriend, he would flirt with me non stop and one time, i started to like him as more than just a friend and what do u know, he saw my younger sister, and starting liking HER!! He was such a FUC**** AS*HOLE!
Reply:Love this is great you and him or friends thats very important so in your relationship the rest seems to be falling in place, just like Romeo and Juliet.*
Reply:If he scratched your hand, hes cheap.. forget it!!

More generally, you can usually tell intentions by how he looks at you....
Reply:ask him either way just ask him what he wants from u that way u will know lol
Reply:well obiviously he likes you i only make that type of contact with the girls i like
Reply:if he looks you up and down and licks his lips that's like you flirty.
Reply:I seen this on tv. He knows hr likes you he just didn't tell you.

Chapter 4

A Chance of a Lifetime

“Aaron, where is everybody?” I asked as I saw Aaron sitting alone in front of the whaleback ship.“You know how it is Kyra—they had their own things to do. Last night they came because they were curious who I was, um interested in. That’s all.” Alone at last! Alone—with a dragon! Mister caramel lightly dipped in dark chocolate eyes! The eyes that I felt I could meld into…“Kyra. Kyra!”“ Huh?” “ Am I so boring that you have to day dream when you’re with me?” he smirked, gently caressing my cheek.“No! No! I was just thinking.” Whew, if he only knew the affect his eyes had on me. “So Aaron, what are we going to do tonight? Jump in the lake, cascade over mountains, or talk.” I was so busy staring into his eyes that I he had already changed into his dragon form and was flipping me onto his back.“ Aiii…” I screamed, surprised.“Let’s talk” I heard him say in my head as we flew low over the water.“Boat! Boat!” was all I could scream as a boat quickly appeared in our path. I closed my eyes not wanting to see the impact. Instead, I felt the slight shift in Aaron’s body as he coasted out of its path.“You can open your eyes now.” he gurgled and snorted. Was he laughing!“Ya go ahead and laugh at me” I fumed, “You wouldn’t think it so funny if we would have crashed.” His gurgling and snorting continued, he was laughing so hard his body was shaking, tickling me as I hung on.“Stop.. hahaha… that!”

We landed at top of the Aerial Lift Bridge.

The glow of the Duluth/Superior lights were all around us as I gawked at the pristine beauty of the lights, lake and the night. I could see small white shapes floating, reflecting the city lights on the lake.

“Those are seagulls.”“Seagulls? I thought they would find some warm, dry place to sleep on land.” “ Seagulls are opportunists. They sleep in their nests when the have young otherwise they sleep anywhere they are away from their predators, and I don’t think Lake Superior has many predators that can eat a live healthy seagull.”“ Do you eat seagulls?”“ Na, some of the others do but for me they’re too feathery. Yuck! Last time I tried one it took me weeks to get the feathers out of my teeth!” I hope he brushes his teeth! Yuck! Carefully, he set me down on the beam he had been standing on—changing back. The winds off the lake scared me, as they blew I had to struggle to maintain my footing.“Aaron!” I cried as my feet slipped out from under me. I was falling!“Gotcha!” he said in my ear. We were both sitting down, me in his lap, and his strong-arms tightly around me. We sat there in silence—watching. Watching—together—in his arms—clouds float by, the ships cast in darkness on the lake- rolling with a glimmer of light. “Kyra, what did you want to ask me?” His breath tickled my ear.“Huh? Oh!” I said as his voice seeped through the fog of my mind. “I wanted to know why are there dragons here and why this area? In all the books I read, dragons exist everywhere but here!” “ Dragons like humans are everywhere. It’s just we choose to live hidden—if most humans knew we really did exist, they would try to put us in zoo’s and dissect us; trying to find out whether we were more like lizards or snakes. Through history we have learned that humans kill what they are afraid of, even themselves…”

I kissed him. On the cheek- I couldn’t help myself- he seemed so, sad.

“We would rather live in our dragon form, but with humans, living almost everywhere on the earth—if we wanted to survive—we didn’t have a choice.”I started to think about what might happened if someone, anyone who was not willing to keep their secret proved Aaron and his kind existed and who they were as humans.“Aaron, can you choose what you look like as a human?”“No, we can only choose the age.”“Your age! How old are you, as a dragon?” I never thought about how long the legends said dragons could live. I guess I just assumed he was my age even in dragon. “Hmm.. about 225 years old. Give or take a couple years.”“ 225! Than why are you hanging out with me? I’m a little young aren’t I?”Aaron explained to me how dragon age and human age is not the same; just like a dog’s age is not really the same as a human. That in approximation of dragon age he was about the same age as me and had as much to learn about the world as I did. “Feel better?” he laughed, hugging me tighter.“Yes much better, I was starting to think all I was to you was a plaything.”“Never! Are you hungry?”“ A little. Why are you?”“ Famished!”

Did he say famished? Oh no! I never asked him if he ate humans!

“Umm—you don’t eat people do you?” “Only those that annoy me.” He laughed, teasingly. Whew, that was a relief. Feeling playful—I leaned close to his ear and whispered, “I don’t annoy you do I.”

Aaron grabbed me and threw me up into the air of the brisk moonlit night. My scream lost in my throat. He won’t let me fall to my death- right? I was only teasing. I felt the wind blow against my body—suffocating me as I tried to scream-I was going to pass out! I watched as the ground rose to meet me. “Aaron WHAT did I do?” I tried to scream when all of a sudden I was jerked hard upright, thrown into the air once again and landed safely on Aarons back. “I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to scare you. Let’s go eat!” Eat—eat—does he think I feel like eating after almost crashing to my death because of him?“I’m NOT hungry. Humph…” I said, kicking him in the side.“I said I was sorry—what more do you want?” Does he think I am going to talk to him, after what he did?“Kyra, I was just playing. Please, please believe me when I tell you I would have never let anything happen to you!”“ PLAYING, PLAYING! YOU call that playing?”“ I guess to someone who can’t fly, I can understand how they wouldn’t think that as playing.”“ You got that right!”

We landed in a secluded area on the rocky shores of Canal Park.“Where to?”“Follow my lead.” Aaron said once he changed in human form, holding my hand in his and led the way. We only had to walk a little ways before arriving at a restaurant.

“Have you ever eaten here Kyra?”

“Ya, the food’s yummy.”

“Yummy?”

“Yes, yummy.”

He looked confused. Hasn’t he ever heard the word yummy before? He ordered a big steak with all the works, and I politely said, “The same!” as the server took our order. He looked surprised but not as surprised as I was for how bold I was being. Why not? Didn’t he throw me off the top of the Arial Lift Bridge? A girl can really work up an appetite once the shock wears off a near death experience.

“I guess you’re afraid that this might be your last meal?” Aaron said as he laughed from across the table.“Aaron, what do people think when at school you’re in a wheelchair and out of school your not?”“I just make sure to avoid them. Usually after school I am at places they aren’t—unless of course they can change into birds.” “ Why the wheel chair? You don’t need it?”Aaron explained to me how he chose to be in a wheelchair at school; that he couldn’t walk—even if he tried. “Why? How can you walk one minute and than not the next? I don’t understand.”

“We all do—sometime during our lives.”

He looked so uncomfortable—as if he was telling me a deep dark secret.

“So—how about those Twins,” I chirped.

“Twins, aren’t they baseball? We’re in football season now.”

I smacked my head with the palm of my hand. How could I forget it was football season? I lived on the Wisconsin-Minnesota border—all the rivalry going on between Packer and Viking fans was almost as interesting as the sport itself. Our talking ebbed as our food arrived— shoveling bite after bite as if we were starving in our hungry mouths.

“We have to hurry or you’re going to be late!” Aaron said after he paid for our food and left a sizable tip for the server.We rushed out the door, running down the street towards the white and black lighthouse on Canal Park. “Why—are—we going there?” I asked Aaron when we were half way there.“People on the rocks,” was all he said as he grabbed my hand and hurried me along. With a flick of his wrist, I was cast into the air, landing on his back with a thud. I hadn’t even realized Aaron had changed into a dragon all ready. “How do you do that!” I called to him as the wind whipped my voice away, making it a whisper.“How do I do what?”“Change into a dragon so quickly? Isn’t it difficult?”“ It is more difficult for me to change into human form than it is my original form-think about it?”

I suppose it would be just as difficult for a human to change into a dragon—the scales instead of hair, big pointy teeth, and razor sharp claws instead of finger nails. I could name a few people who probably wouldn’t have any difficulties with the claws, since they always seem to have them bared and ready to use. “Ha ha ha,” I was laughing so hard tears streamed down my cheeks—Aaron had to shift to balance me—I almost fell off Aaron’s back.“What’s so funny that you could have fallen to your doom?”“Claws!” I cried and laughed even harder.“Claws? What is so funny about claws?” As we landed in the alley behind my house, I tried to explain to him how some people seemed too always have their claws out. He did not understand until I used a few examples using some kids from school. “Oh, I get it!”I wasn’t sure he did, but I think he understood a little better before I told him goodbye and gave him a quick peck on the cheek – running into the house so I would not be late.

“Kyra! I was worried about you. I tried to call you on the cell phone for the last hour and you did not answer. Well, young lady?” My dad stood in the kitchen with his feet firmly planted shoulder with apart; with his hands on his hips, and glared at me as if I had committed a cardinal sin. He only acted like this when I was seriously in trouble.“Hi Honey. Did you have a good time tonight?” Mom said as she walked in the kitchen and stood next to my dad. She must have heard him because before I could answer she asked for her cell phone back.“Here you go mom.” I said sheepishly as I unclipped the cell phone from my belt and handed it to her. She flipped her phone open, checking it, holding it up for my dad to see than whispered something in his ear as she mouth to him the words ‘sorry’.

“I’m sorry Kyra. Your mom just informed me that she forgot to turn the ringer and vibrate on, before she gave it to you. Next time you use her cell phone-- please check that it is on.” I stood there in disbelief, how lucky I was at that moment. If the ringer or vibrate had been turned on I would have been grounded to my room for at least a week.“Kyra, I was just worried something happened to you. I love you.” I hadn’t run up to my dad in years and hugged him, tonight was an exception. “I love you too dad.” I said as I squeezed him as tightly as I could. He had been so busy much of my life I had almost forgotten how worried he got when I wasn’t safe at home.

When I was in sixth grade, I went to my first sleep over at a friend’s house for her birthday. She lived a long way out in the country, on a farm. While I was getting my stuff ready to go to her sleepover, there was a breaking news report on the television about a recent bear attack in the area. My dad had been so worried that a bear might break into her house and maul me that he forbade me to go to the sleep over. It wasn’t until my mom’s reassurance that I would be safe-- that the news report said, “the attack was from a bear attacking campers in their tents- who did not secure their food properly- not their homes; did my dad finally lift my restriction on going to the party. As my mom and I walked out the door to drive there, he hugged me as if he was never going to see me again. I laughed when the next day my mom told me my dad had dreamed that he was fighting off bears all night, which made it impossible for her to get any sleep out of concern that he might mistake her for a bear.

I dragged myself up the stairs to my room-- dead tired-- I guess all this flying around as a passenger is starting to wear me out. I still had the riddles to solve—tonight I did get some answers only to find more questions. “Goodnight Kyra,” my mom said softly as she pulled my quilt over me, kissing my forehead gently goodnight. “G--night mom.” I mumbled as I drifted off to sleep.

It was still dark when I woke up; my heart pounding in my chest as I jumped to my feet—ready to protect myself from the threat I felt. I glanced defensively around my room, noticing nothing out of the ordinary. That was until I saw a blurred reddish brown –what looked to be a weird handprint on my glass outside my window. As my eyes adjusted to the dim light, I could see that the print was indeed of a hand—a hand just like Aarons in dragon form. “Aaron!” My mind screamed out his name. It was all I remembered as I woke to the sun shinning through my still scarred window, waking me up for a new day.

Chapter 5

The Note

“Nothing’ but a little late fall house cleaning,” I told my mom as she stood in my doorway watching me clean my window. The windows of our house tilt in for cleaning otherwise I would be frantic about how I was going to hide the bloody print sticky solidly to the middle of the glass. I could only wonder if Aaron was playing some sort of prank, was he injured somehow, or if one of the other dragons did this.

“Kyra, I know I usually harp to you to clean your room. It’s forty degrees outside this morning and I do not think now is a good time to clean outside windows.”

I knew she was right. It was getting chilly in my room from having my window tilted open but I was sure she would be freaked out if I had left it the way it was.

I got dressed quickly, and ran downstairs to the kitchen. My mom was in her usual spot at the table – cup of coffee in hand—no dad in sight.

“Where’s dad?” I asked her as I finished pouring a bowl of cereal for myself.

She looked up from the book she had been reading, “Did you forget he had to go to work this morning as usual?”

Now I did it! I made her mom radar go off by asking her something I should have known.

Nervously I Sloshed the milk, I was trying to pour, over the count top “Oops! I’ll clean it up.” I said as I quickly grabbed a towel.

“What is wrong with you today Kyra. First you’re up this morning cleaning your window than forgetting your dad has to work today- it’s not like you- what’s wrong?”

I wanted to tell her about everything. Aaron and his friends being dragons, flying and about the bloody claw print—I was afraid. I was afraid if I did tell her and she believed me she would ground me forever or if she didn’t believe me I would feel betrayed- betrayed that she didn’t trust me enough not lie to her about something this serious. So-- I did the best thing I could do at the time.

Shrugging my shoulders as I spooned mouthfuls of globules into my mouth I mumbled, “I don’t know.” A safe response that most children learn as soon as they can talk to defend themselves from things they do not want to answer.

I felt guilty as I watched my mom silently get up to pour herself some more coffee. My mom like some adults never forgot what it was like being an adolescent; she knew exactly what I was doing. As I glance over to her empty seat I saw the book she had been reading, ‘Norse Mythology’, it was identical to the one I saw Aaron reading in school.

“Mom! Where did you get that book?”

Startled by the urgency in my voice she turned quickly, knocking her cup off the counter and onto the floor.

“Calm down,” she said as she stooped to clean up the mess. “I found it in your backpack. I’m sorry if I upset you—I didn’t think you would mind.”

“Oh, no mom, I don’t mind—I just forgot I had that book, that’s all.” I said as I shoved the book roughly into my backpack.

I glanced cautiously at her to see if she believed me—she did. My stomach felt like it was churning as I realized—she believed me and this time I had lied to her.

What was I doing? I never lied to my mom before—we had an honesty policy. Our ‘honesty policy’ was an agreement my mom and I created together when I was a little girl. It said that we were never to lie to one another unless it was extreme circumstances like the year dad planned a surprise party for my mom and I wasn’t supposed to tell her—because if I did, it would have wrecked the surprise. Otherwise, we were to be honest with each other.

I didn’t really lie though-- I just used the word forgot rather than didn’t know-- Maybe I really did forget with all the things happening. Just maybe, Aaron gave me the book and I unconsciously put it in my backpack. Great! Now, I was lying to myself.

“Oh this fell out of your book,” she said handing me a tattered folded piece of paper. “In case you’re wondering,” she continued, “I didn’t open it. I respect your privacy.”

This morning was turning out to be one of those days when you wished you stayed safe in bed. Filled with guilt for the partial lie and now her declaration of how she respects my privacy I did the only thing I could do.

I smiled an uttered a “Thanks mom,” stuffing the note in my back pocket as I leaned in and kissed her on the cheek before I grabbed my coat and out the door, walking quickly to the bus stop.

Once at school, I scanned the hallways in between class, hoping to catch a glimpse of Aaron, Andrea or some recognition of any of the other dragons I saw in human form my first night at Barkers Island.

Class after class went by without seeing any of them—I was hopeful, that at lunch Andrea would be there, for my mind was consumed by theories about the bloody hand/claw print.

“That maybe it wasn’t blood at all but red clay. Aaron could have gotten it on his hands/claws before he put the book in my backpack when I was sleeping” or “it was just a prank one of the other dragons was pulling to scare me.”

Though my theories were plausible—I could find loopholes in all of them—except two--, one that Aaron was hurt and the other that it was a prank. If only I could find Aaron or Andrea, they might know.

Lunchtime came and I decided to buy my lunch. The line wasn’t very long—grabbing an apple, a salad, and a bottle of water—I proceeded to the cashier.

She looked bored as she said, “$2.20” while she held out her hand for the money.

I reached in my back pocket pulling out the cash I had stashed there when I noticed the note that had fallen out of the ‘Norse Mythology’ book this morning. Hanging on to my two one-dollar bills and fishing in my front pocket for the twenty cents- finding two dimes. I dropped the money into her hand, snatched up my tray, scanned for a seat where Andrea (if she was at school) could find me, and a little privacy to look at the tattered folded paper. I found the perfect table. It was close to the cafeteria doors—so that Andrea wouldn’t miss me—as well as the space was busy enough for now one to care about what I was doing.

I opened the paper carefully; afraid if I hurried I would tear it, and spread the note out in front of me.

I know I have seen symbols like this somewhere, but where; maybe in history class when we were studying ancient Egypt.

“Hey, I heard their serving ‘wing dings’ today!” A student said loudly to his pal as they walked to the lunch line, disrupting my thoughts.

All through lunch, I studied the note trying to decipher any of it, while automatically taking bite after bite out of my apple. The salad was forgotten.Br-i- ng….the bell rang out; time to move on to my next class. Disappointed, I jammed the note in my backpack, stuffed the leftover lunch in the trash, hopeful that Aaron would be in Biology to ease my fears and explain what was going on.

In the hallway my head started throbbing, at first a dull pain just behind my ear, it steadily increase as I made my way to class. “Stress headache,” I muttered, trying to comfort myself as the pain in my head amplified.

“Kyra.. Kyra…” I heard someone behind me whisper, I turned around towards the sound to see who said it, but all I saw were a sea of faces bobbing to their next class. I must be imagining it, I thought. Until I heard my name, being whispered again only this, time more urgent. “What!” I replied, frustrated as I abruptly spun around and smacked into Mr. Wilson my biology teacher, almost knocking him off his feet. He was so shocked he could only sputter and shake his head as I offered him a quick apology and scooted off to my next class hoping the time would go by quickly. As I sat in class waiting for it to be over; the thrum in my head worsened, I started to shiver from the pain. “Just a little bit longer,” I coaxed myself trying to hold out until biology. Than I would ask Mr. Wilson for a pass to go to the nurses office, but only after I talk to Aaron.

“KYRA!” I heard someone scream, as I started trembling uncontrollably as an intense pain tore through my head. Blinding me as my body plummeted off my chair down to the cold tiled floor. I never heard the bell ring for biology.

“Kyr.. ra..,” a ghostly voice whispered in the night; the moon lighting up everything around me in an ethereal blush; I saw waves undulating far below me, embracing the rocks that jutted maliciously out of the water, reaching for me, calling my name. I teetered on the edge of the precipice imploring my body not to reply. I could only watch, feeling the alarm rise up in me as my arms reached out to them. “Ky…ra” they called, “come to us..” I wobbled, resisting, as my feet stirred moving closer to the edge. Amongst the waves, sitting on the largest rock I could see a gloomy figure, battered and bloody looking up at me with big sad eyes. “Kyr.. Ra” it called up at me, “RUN!” The dark silhouette’s command shocked me out of my stupor. Regaining control over my body and mind, I spun around and ran howling “Noooo…!” as I realize the broken figure on the rocks, had been Aaron in his dragon form. I found myself running through the wood, branches slashing, grabbing at me trying to stop my plight. When I could run no more, I tumbled to the ground and sobbed. I wept for Aaron, wondering if he was still alive or if the crashing tide washed him away. I cried for myself, lost, afraid, and confused. Wondering how I got to the cliff when my last memory was of me sitting safe in my class at school, waiting for the bell to ring, for my next class was biology. The only class I had Aaron in; who might hold the answers that I needed.

A shadow flickered across the ground. Looking up I saw a large dark shape looming just above the trees, directly over my head. I crouched lower, burying my head in my arms, trying to shield myself from its view. “Kyr.. ra,” it sang to me, it words vibrating through my mind, “don’t be afraid.” I heard the rustling of branches as it made its decent. I looked up, startled to see Andrea, my friend, looming over me. She was more beautiful than I remember, as the moonlight shimmered in waves off her dark lavender scales. I tried to find the words to tell her about Aaron, to ask her what was happening, as she gently picked me up and placed me on her back. “Hang on,” she called, her voice soft as a lullaby “I’m here to bring you home.”

Need your help- Writing first draft of novel need some feedback here is part of a chapter-?
Ok...

What you have in your present manuscript is basically a plot outline. It reads ok as play by play but it needs to be more descriptive and draw the reader in. I will try to give you an example, but it will not necessarily fit the character or relationships you are creating. One more point, try to use 3rd person in your narration. It is a bit of a fine sticking point, but 1st person is considered a bit to egocentric for most writing.

Example:

From across the ripening fields or wheat, etched in frames of thatched village hearth smoke, the dragon and child played. Sinister scales of crimson and royal purple reflected the late October sun's last rays as if surrounding them in breathed flame, and yet no malice shown in a dance of equals of friends even from so far away their laughter could not be heard.
Reply:"Shapsjo" reminded me of something that I sometimes forget to do in my writing myself.

Reply:Sorry, but you did not grab and keep my attention in the first couple of paragraphs. If some one is checking a book out either to borrow from a library,or to buy from a bookshop, the first two paragraphs is usually all they read before deciding.

Stay on the subject, don`t dart about, it could be good, sort and tidy it a bit.
Reply:I strongly recommend that you not post chapters of your book (even draft chapters) to any site, including this one. You risk someone taking the copy (or the underlying ideas) and using it as their own. Try joining a writing organization or finding a writing buddy. Also, keep the mystery. Share your writing with a friend or two, but withhold the details from the rest. Too much hype and distribution will kill the book when it's eventually published (and it will be published if you do what 98% of writers don't do--actually finish the book). Good luck!

What are the problems of getting some weed to relieve my mother's chronic spinal pain?

docs have put her on several medications and max strength painkillers but not morphine,my understanding is that certain types of chronic pain such as ms can only be alleviated by cannabis

as i live like a monk due to my diabetes what are the problems associated with my helping wiht this problem apart from getting beaten up by scummy drug dealers,getting palmed off wiht rubbish ,getting busted for dealing and explaining to the relatives how the old lady suddenly turned psychotic for no apparent reason;and oh yeah a possible manslaughter charge in the event of htings going really wrong-lay it all on me bro'

What are the problems of getting some weed to relieve my mother's chronic spinal pain?
Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that you are smoking the weed intended to help that poor suffering woman w/ spine pain. She's your mother for christ sake... stop smoking her medical ganja...

I only came to this conclusion because you spell like a pothead and some of the stuff you typed is kind of paranoid and delusional... you know... paranoid and delusional after smoking all your poor suffering momma's medicinal herbage.

My GOD! I am glad she isn't on morphine... you'd probably drink that **** up like it was water!

Now be a good little 15 year old and give your mom her pot back.

How to handle a co-worker?

One of the ladies that I work with has a many irritating habit, but the one that I find unbearable, is when she Come very very close to my face and talks to me. like a few inches away!! We are of the same height her face in right at mine. She does not do it with others as everyone else is taller than both of us. Sometimes her face is so near that I feel like putting my palm on her face and giving her a push away. She is a very nice person and I really dont want to say anything to her as she is very sensitive and is on medication. What should I do :((((( HELP!!!

How to handle a co-worker?
"Excuse me please, but please step back away from me". OR -

You step back and if she comes closer, then tell her outright, "Do you mind not getting so close to me when we're talking, it makes me uncomfortable".

That simple! And if she continues to do this just walk away from her, she'll get the message.
Reply:With love and intelligence.
Reply:Cover your mouth and cough or sneeze every time she does this. Most people will back off then so they don't catch your "cold."

If that doesn't work turn your head and look away. Then tell her that when someone stands within 3' of your face like she does to you, you see double ( a very common problem, my son suffers from this) which is causing you eye problems and your Optometrist has told you not to look at anything within 3' of your face. Then ask her to please back up to 3' away.

Someone who does this isn't going to respond to a talk about personal space because she doesn't feel threatened when someone is that close to her.
Reply:when she does this, stand back about 2-3 feet.
Reply:Have some garlic. She'll back off.
Reply:Start a conversation about personal space tell her you are kind of odd and need a lot then take a step back when she is too close. She should get the hint. Good luck.
Reply:Just back up a little.
Reply:Keep on blowing air with a smiling loving face or strike your head gently as if you haven't done it purposely and say sorry! and tell her " keep some distance, you will get hurt, no?
Reply:Create a new e-mail account with her name on yahoo or something and send it to her work e-mail address with messages about personal space ... or you could send her the script of the Seinfeld episode with the "close talker"
Reply:My son does this. He does it because he's excited about what he's talking about, and he wants to make sure you're listening. He doesn't realize he's doing it, but yes, it can be VERY annoying. As much as you like the person, it's just invasive. I simply let him know I'm listening, by saying something like........oh really? or, I'm listening.......and then step away little bit by little. He's young enough though, I can say something to him about it to teach him. Your case is a little different. You could try the technique I use with my son, or you can just simply be as nice as you can and tell her it bothers you. Good luck.

P.S. My son is on medication too. It makes him open up and talk more. He just can't control it sometimes.

Please help with halloween bash?

I am busy organising a halloween bash but its strictly under 18s. Its not going to be a party-party since I dont really want games but they are going to dress up.Since theses kids are too young to go to a night club, we are going to transform the school hall into a nightclub and add spooky decor.Ive already come up with ideas that arent to childish such as a scary lady in the corner reading palms or whatever and selling "pumpkin heads" or "love potions" (wat can i call it) where you can leave a message for someone you like and we deliver at the event. Give me some more ideas pls! Remember, these kids dont go for "childish" games etc.

Please help with halloween bash?
.Love spells, maybe? Have them write a love spell in keeping with their costume. Dracula would say something like he is dressed for a formal evening,and a girl could be by his side, forever.

Try a seance, with a rigged up table, ghosts appearing. You could cordon it off a bit from the rest of the room, so everybody could visit and be surprized..

Try a haunted house, those are really popular, one of my friends used to set one up in her house, with the coffin with the gory scary person trying to open the lid and get out. Even kids that age like being scared. But these techno age kids would have to have something that really looks real, won't they?

Try a gift favor bag, they like free stuff. Visit your local party store, they might have some more adult ideas and favors, since Halloween is becoming more of an adult event.

WELL YESTERDAY I WHENT SO THIS LADY COULD READ MY PALM . THEY TOLD ME ALOT OF STUFF THAT ARE REAL OF THE PAST AND TOLD ME HORRIBLE STUFF OF THE FUTURE AND NOW IM SCARED AND DONT KNOW IF TO BELIEVE HER OR NOT

Do you believe in whichcraft?
Practicing witch. So yes!! About the future remember nothing is set in stone. Things in your life could change which would alter you future. Don't worry about it too much.
Reply:I am a psyhcic and a medium. Any good psychic will tell you a reading she does now might change in 1 day as your path changes according to choices you make. Try to let it go and take the steps you need to make it not happen and let it go and dont worry.

It only has power if you let it.

So far it all has happened. BUT they arent always right...dont sweat it...live ur life to the fullest.
Reply:Real fortune tellers, palm readers or tarot readers would not tell you "horrible stuff" of the future. Most people who tell you things like that usually follow it up with, "I can help you fix that if you pay me..."

If you'd like to email me off answers, you can let me know what the person said exactly and I'll see what if anything you should or need to do about it. Most likely it was not legitimate in which case the person should be reported. Trust me...no strings attached OR anything else...promise.

People like that is what gives the real thing a bad name and reputation.

You if it's right: really? (she probably smell you...)

You if it's wrong:HEY I TAKE A BATH TODAY!!!

Lady: Sorry my bad.. I smell my self....

i would say in some point witch craft might be true but you dont have to believe because you make your own decision and you should know where it's gona go..
Reply:While I firmly believe in Witchcraft, you do have to be careful when going to places like palm readers. Some do have a gift to see the future but others are just con artists who skillfully work the client into telling them something and they just expand on it and make you think they saw it themselves.
Reply:Yes, as they all get their power from the Devil. Satan allows them to exist for thier souls. I was a white witch for a short while but a minister told me that the amulet I had had a 5 pointed star with the 2 points up and a crown on top, which stands for satanism. That amulet was supposed to protect me from evil, instead it pulled it in.
Reply:I've dabbled in palm reading, and have found that the information they give about the future is almost always negative. I also have found, of all the fortune telling methods I've dabbled with, that palm readings are the least reliable, even less than pendulum reading.

I'd say don't worry about it.
Reply:Palm readers aren't necessarily witches. Witches aren't

necessarily palm readers. Not the same.

And there are a lot of folks out there that like to scare

the bejabbers out of people, as that is what they

think they came to a palm reader for.

Live a good life, and let it go. Sounds like someone

who had a negative day and shared it with you.

your future is what you make it........it is NOT set in stone. What she told you is only a version of what will happen if you stay on this path, you can change it.

Reply:Witchcraft is real. It is not something to be believed in or not.

Whether or not the "lady" was a real palm reader is to be determined. If she came from a respectable source, then it may be real.

The thing about palm reading and tarot and the like is that is does give you some insight to the future, but it's not like that's how it has to turn out. Now you have some control.
Reply:I don't believe in magic, but I believe that witchcraft usually invites the spirit of the Devil And I don't mean that comes up, offers you a few wishes, and then you sell your soul to him. I mean that I think it invites a bad feeling and drives away the holy ghost.

But, in your case, there are always ticks to that kind of stuff. Palm readers have an art to conning people.

Are my dreams psychic related?

Ever since very little I have been feeling like I have Psychic powers, when I was around 5 and 7 I would always, know who was calling my mom on her phone, or who would call my mom, what commercials would appear on the TV %26amp; well just little things, when I was 12 I once guessed the correct lottery numbers, %26amp; said that destiny’s child would be back together (right) before the radio did. In fact my radio woke me up %26amp; that was the first thing that came to mind, “Destiny’s child” %26amp; then they got back together. I really didn’t think it was anything.

And then a few months ago I started getting weird dreams, like I would wake up crying because they were so life-like. One was my brother would go on a long trip %26amp; die in a car crash.

I was so scared for him I didn’t really eat %26amp; just felt sick all the time, I stopped calling him (he lives with my dad) because I was afraid he would pick up his phone %26amp; get in a wreck. I told my mom %26amp; her friend (%26amp; her friends daughter) on the way to church %26amp; just started crying because I really don’t know, I hardly ever cry, (sorry this is so long) anyways I found out Monday (the dream was on Saturday) that my brother would fly to LA with band mates. That freaked me out even more, %26amp; then Wednesday I found out the left wing on his plane broke, %26amp; they had to shut down the air port for an emergency crash. It didn’t crash (thank god) but it was as if I knew it was going to happen.

The same thing happened again (only the dream was she was murdered by a cow) I know that’s silly but that same scary feeling came over me again, she was in a car crash shortly after, a “cattle” guard had totaled her ford focus, there was absolutely nothing left, she barely survived.

And then….I had my palm read. The lady said I had “very bad energy coursing threw my veins” %26amp; that my love life was very unstable %26amp; that I would “lead down a path of suicide.” She said that I was being used as “satins eyes” %26amp; I needed to seek help. I was so horrified %26amp; shocked that someone had said something like that to me; I refused to pay because I felt insulted %26amp; left. She started yelling something about dream catchers, %26amp; then that freaked me out…again.

The stress of these dreams are too much to handle I’m very calm %26amp; collected I make average grades %26amp; I’m extremely social, every 3 or so months when I get a ‘psychic’ dream I feel depressed %26amp; angry, I literately cant be around anyone, its horrible! I feel as if that person has died already, or I get the feeling this is the last time ill ever see this person again. something ALWAYS happens, and its always about death.

Okay, lately now I’ve been getting those simple “feelings” I got when I was 5 -12, about being about to predict little things, like what songs are about to play on the radio, you know just random little things.

Here is the question:

So will a simple dream catcher help at all? Or do I need to seek out a priest or something? I don’t tell people about my dreams because I know they wont believe me, %26amp; they’ll think I want attention. So how do I handle something like this? Is it even psychic related?

If it helps I’m 15, dyslexic %26amp; have ADD. (People can never tell though, I stopped taking classes %26amp; medicine last year.)

Are my dreams psychic related?
The woman who told you that Satan was looking through your eyes, and that you were headed for suicide, is a wacko. She is the one doing the evil. Through your own experience you know that no matter how depressed you get, you always pull through...a bad day leads to a hundred good ones...no drugs necessary.

When you're a teen, life is full of drama and instability...it's part of growing up. When I was a teenager, I had psychic experiences, and couldn't wait to tell anyone who would listen...for effect...to create drama. Everything calms down more and more as you get older. (Though you still have the experiences, you don't need to tell people so much.)

You'll always be running into negative people...ignore them, concentrate on the positive, and you'll be fine. Myself, I would stay away from dream catchers and priests, and concentrate on good, positive friends.
Reply:do not put aside making the dreamcatcher every 12 days Report It

Reply:God has given you a special gift! Only he can help you use it in a positive manner! It sounds as if these dreams are warnings. No one has actually died, from what I gathered! But it may help when you receive them to warn the person to be careful and if traveling take a different mode of transportation than what you saw in your dream. At first it may be difficult but as time goes by people will start to take you seriously. If you can change the outcome of the dream, you also will feel better about having them. Dreams are what can be, not what has to be.

Dream catchers do help screen out the scarier stuff. But if your given the dream as a warning, you will still see all those details.

I know they can scare the tar out of you sometimes. And that feeling of your heart racing and your whole body feels like it's on pins and needles. I have them every now and then.

Try asking God to help you use this gift in a way he intended. If it really bothers you to receive the dreams then ask him to take them away. He will do so. We are never given that which is more than we can bear!
Reply:Sis, I believe you have a gift which is more a curse than a blessing. Unfortunately the ones most active around those with this gift are Lucifer and his angels who use and feed directed terrifying dreams of the future in order to terrify, dehumanize or drive the person to suicide.

When you know what you know, and it terrifies you, lean on Jesus and throw your burden on him in prayer. He will answer and change things. You will never be worried again no matter what you see through your heightened senses.

The gift is called clairvoyance. Many christian saints and mystics were clairvoyant but rarely ever terrified. They knew they had a gift to use for God, not to showcase their own "power" as some of these TV psychics like Sylvia Browne, John Gray or those on street corners do for money and fame. Those are used heavily by the devil in order to confuse and depress the listener and the psychic. All their predictions are depressing or confusing.

Think of your gift as something extra to be used right. It is not your power to see the dreams but simply because they have been directed to you, just as TV signals are picked up by a receiver. Never let depression to get the better of you, you give victory to the devil. Ask God in prayer to take away your worries. Be cheerful in prayer. Ask for faith and you will receive.

Above all, NEVER GO TO A PSYCHIC OR NECROMANCER EVER! THEY WILL INFECT YOUR MIND WITH DEPRESSING THOUGHTS. And you never know when they might be cursing you, if they see you as future "competition" to their money-making. That is also a ruse of the evil one to use these pagan psychics in order to depress others and spread the depression. Ignore everything she said and ask God for help. Don't keep going to these psychics or your life will be as messed up as theirs is eventually. I believe the psychic is possessed as she offers herself as a medium to any passing spirit. Don't get seduced into the same thing. (which is what we know as possession)

Reply:Sweetheart, you have been through an awful lot for such a young lady. Please know that you are safe. Satan is not using your eyes. You are open to future "potentials". This means that you are seeing an outcome that is possible, but not set in stone.

A dream catcher will not "catch your dreams" unless it is empowered by someone like a shaman, and tailor made for you. Since that's hard to come by...

The Universe is asking you to be a warning signal, dear one.

When you have a dream that involves a death or harm coming to someone you know, tell the person immediately! Just by doing that alone you open up the possibility that the path for that person will change before any harm comes to them. It does not matter my dear if they think you're crazy. Just tell them.

You may not always be able to avoid having the dream, but you cannot let it affect you so deeply. The more you think about it and feel bad, the more energy you give it as a possiblity.

The little predictions are normal and common. You are just tuned in to the frequency that most of us miss.

You do need to stay on your medication, sweetie. Please, for your own health and safety.

I wish you luck and many blessings.
Reply:i've had the same feeling, and i get severe deja vu, and have actually seen the image in my head the morning before it happened.

but

its just your mind messing with you.
Reply:You know what, you are not crazy, but you have a unique gift. I do not believe it is psychic, but God is showing you events in advance and to pray about these events before they happen. I have the same dreams also, but where I see people dying, they are often warnings. God will show me people who have destruction coming upon them and then I will pray for them and the event does not come to pass. Or, The Lord will have me warn that person, so destruction will not come upon them. Your problem is that you have not had anyone to teach you what you are actually seeing. You actually have a gift which can save people lives. Most people do fear this type of gift because they do not understand where it comes from or the purpose of it. If you have anymore questions about it, just e-mail me.
Reply:It is possible that your dream was a psychic warning - but here is what I want to say to you. Psychics have more power than just seeing the future and getting messages. Psychics can be light and energy workers that heal and protect too. If you have a power - that is awesome. Control your power, don't let it control you.

White light protects (and the different colors do different things) so if you are worried about someone in the future, don't sweat and worry about it. Use your faith and use your mind to protect them. Imagine the person in your mind and see them bathed in light. You can visualize a ribbon of light spiraling around the loved one from 1 foot above the head to 1 foot below the feet to give them protection as well.

Search the web for psychic protections for one that resonates with you and do yourself a favor and visualize your own self in your mind's eye and see yourself strong, safe and at peace when you have worries like this. You must first nuture yourself, for then there will be plenty to give to others.

Peace!

We are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense.

Reply:Yes, you're clairvoyant. I agree with one of your answerers here - you have a gift. It's scary because it's powerful and you can't control it and you don't know what to do with it or how to make yourself feel better when you dream those dreams or think those thoughts. You will be okay.

You need to do a few things. First, I agree with another one of your answerers - learn to bathe your family in light - and learn to bathe yourself in light. Quickly. Start doing your research. You're obviously very bright and have learned to listen to yourself. Trust your instincts and start working with what's within.

Second, I'm pretty sure a priest would misunderstand. Not out of malice, just not in touch with what you're attuned to. So - where do you find help? From other intuitives, clairvoyants, and healers who can show you how to hone your gift into something positive. I think you have a real gift for Reiki healing and it will teach you about "channeling" energy and working with light and with your Self. Meditation should also be on your list.

There are a million different types of what people seem to call "alternative" healers. I think you need to check them out - You will be able to use your gift to help other people and this will be a great place to do it. In the alternative healing realm, there are more people who understand what you're going through than you could imagine. A healer must have an intuition about them to truly help others and that is you, to say the least.

Please, please, please - take care of yourself first. If you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of anyone else or help your family.

You need to get help right away and I don't mean medication. I'm not talking about chemicals, I'm talking about learning, learning to use the gift that you have until you can use it as a gift instead of something scary. If you don't, the fear and anxiety and frustration will tear you apart. It's really important. It's really really important. It's important for you and for everyone close to you for you to become knowledgeable about what you can do, how it works. While you're learning, get some Reiki healing done on you to help cleanse and get rid of some of the anxiety. You'll feel so much better.

Bless you. I will be thinking of you.
Reply:You are a clairvoyant, not a psychic. Being psychic is not merely predicting trivial events that will immediately happen. Psychics pick up details, images, voices, scents, thoughts and vibrations of the dead, experience mental images relevant to their life and the lives of others' in their lives.

A priest may tell you that you are possessed by the devil if you confide in him about these 'random' predictions. He will just quote bible verse and pat you on the head....

You are a CLARVOYANT. Not a psychic.

What should i do?

ok this weekend i went to the river festival and this lady was reading palms for a dollar and so i gave her as dollar and she said that i have a friend that wants to get serouse but is nervouse about it and i told him that... do you think that was a good idea? o and do u think that im stupid for falling for that lady?

What should i do?
Yes that was very silly to fall for that lady. They tell you what you want to hear. It's all very general. She read the reactions in your face and told you your fortune off of that.
Reply:Reading palms is fake. I went to a palm reader and she said that I was going to be raped. About a year later I was married and went to the same palm reader just to see what she would say. I didn't tell her I was married and she said that I was going to have lots of boyfriends. It's just witchcraft and silly superstition. Don't believe it or you'll open doors to places you don't want to see.
Reply:Okay, a thing about palm readers, and alike, they tell you gerenal stuff that could be true for a lot of people. If she did not tell you who your friend is or tell you something that was about true about yourself, then changes are she told you what she thought you wanted to hear. Mostly likely she asked you questions and from your answer she told you this....I was not believe her. But how did your friend respond?
Reply:well not stupid just interested. You shouldn't beleive a fortune teller at any festival all their doing is try to make a living. The only one who knows your real futute is God. And no it wasn't wrong for you to tell him. If he like you the "fortune" isn't going to scare him away. He is going to ask you out sooner or later. So just keep living your life and when it happens you will be ready for it.
Reply:well yeah it was stupid to pay a dollar for that, stupider to tell your friend and take it serious, and stupidest for posting it on yahoo and asking our opinion on something that is obviously fake
Reply:stupid. all that crap is just smoke and mirrors. they tell you something vague that you might associate with, and you do the rest. hoax.
Reply:ok well...palm reading is mostly fake so it doesnt really matter that you told him or not...but falling for the palm reading lady wel if your a girl and if your lesbian then its ok but if not then wierd..
Reply:you never no that could be true i thank you did the right thing to tell him ex special if you like him i would of tiold him about it
Reply:I know, How could you waste a dollar?, if you don't believe that stuff don't waste your money on them...

Christmas Fairy indoor/outdoor bud lights?

Can u just put the lights in trees. palms and plants, if it rains is it dangerous, will they burn the plants, I read that a lady laid them on her lawn, do they have to be attached to hooks or sticks as I'm too old to get up a ladder, also I have to plug the power adapter from inside as have no power point at front which means I would have to leave a window or door open? Can the wire fit under doors or something?

Christmas Fairy indoor/outdoor bud lights?
If it says on the packaging that they are suitable for outside they will have a transformer which reduces the voltage to low voltage, they will not burn anything or catch fire if it rains. They will not need to be put on hooks or sticks, so you don't need to go up a ladder!

The cable should be thin enough to go under a door or through a window opening without damaging the door/window, or without being damaged when the door/window is closed.

If the packaging says for indoor use only, obviously don't use them outside!

Hope this helps.
Reply:If the strand of lights is for indoor/outdoor use, you can put them outside. If it rains, they won't set anything on fire. CHECK THE CORD FIRST. Common sense says not to use frayed cords or anything like that. As for the cord, drill a hole in the base of the window and close the window over the cord. That way, you can still close the window, air won't get in, and you can still plug up your lights.

Merry Christmas!! Hope it helps.

Hey, i'm 15 years old and i've started writing a book, i want to be an author and i need opinions?

I welcome you into this story, with hopes that you leave it with a wandering mind.

My story takes place in a world very different from the one you live in. I live in the world of the three kingdoms. The kingdoms of Peace, Tranquility, and Harmony. It would be wise not to be fooled by there names, for the names are just now meaningless titles. There was a place that only the very wise and powerful knew of, the Valley of Unknown powers. No one was quite sure who lived there and why, but all everyone knew was that you went in with a small talent and came out very powerful, you became one of the guardians of the realm. I lived in the most powerful and the cruelest of the kingdoms, the Kingdom of Peace. Although it did not seem that way, for I did not live as a peasant, or a beggar, I lived as the daughter of the next most powerful king of the kingdoms. Prince Garthus the second was to be the next ruler of our kingdom when his father king Garthus the first will be assassinated, for people in these kingdoms don’t pass away, the royalty most likely get murdered. I felt no compassion towards my father for I did not know him so well, I was well cared for but not by a parent. It was horrible of me to think it but I wanted my father assassinated before he took the crown due to the fact that I did not want to be taken to the Valley of Unknown Powers, all the kings, sons and daughters had to go there until they are well acquainted with the other royalty, are prepared for there future duties and have a secret weapon of there own. My name: Annabella, has been down on the list for the v.o.u.p. since birth. I will start my tale from the early years of my life….

I woke up to the sun hitting my face and warming my body after the chilly night, the castle was going to be rampaging with guests this week, for the yearly banquet of the royalties was going to be held at our castle this year, I lay in my bed listening to the yells of the planners, laying there idly while every one was running about there business. But I too was soon taken away from my daydreams by Tenma, the mother figure in my life. She came in barging in a rush, so I pretended to be asleep. She murmured while looking about my room, which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long while. “Where did she leave it? I knew I shouldn’t have shown it to her and that she would end up taking it, those guards will have to be punished.” I yawned loudly to get her to leave and she scurried out of the room. She was talking about the white amulet. There were seven main sources of power in our kingdom. The Luthen Amulets. Of seven colors they are. Earlier Tenma said that a very powerful one was hidden in this castle, and she thought she knew where it might be. Now I’ve always been a little special, but nobody knew it. So, later that night I went to my room, locked the door and lighted a few candles. I let myself slip into unconsciousness.

I was walking down a dark corridor with crisp cobble stoned walls, as a breeze hit the back of my neck. I frantically looked around, but kept scampering to the end of the passageway I saw a mossy wooden door, and reached for it. It was sealed, so I concentrated harder, it opened with a crack, and past that door was a room about two feet in width and length. A blinding light of silver-white reached my eyes, and I stretched my hands…

Chapter two?

I woke up the next morning with my stomach rumbling, lying on the cold stone floor of my room. The accounts of last night rushed back to me. I took my hand to my neck and felt the warmth of the white amulet, and smiled at my success, there was a knock on my door, so I hastily put it under my dress. It was Tenma looking frustrated, as she said “Where have you been? The dukes and duchesses of Harmony are here. Why are you still wearing your night gown? Oh, we don’t have time for this. Come, come hurry put on your gown.”

“Good morning to you too, Tenma.”

Tenma giggled and gave me a smack on the back of my head that I deserved. “Make hurry, almost everyone is here, what were you doing all this time?”

I walked down the stone staircases and started awkwardly greeting the guests. All seemed quite nice. But the air was not clean, it was impure, things were being hidden on the inside. Things that shouldn’t be. I wondered who was hiding them, when I was rudely pulled into a dark corner. “Let me go, what are you doing to me?” I looked up at the face of my capturer and saw a friendly grinning face. Kestn, my best friend was looking down at me with a smile that showed his teeth from every angle, and his hazel eyes gleaming in the dark through his shaggy brown hair. I thought you would like to be escorted out of this banquet of the snobs.” We both laughed, and left the castle, sneaking past the maids, servants and guards. We ran up a hill until we were sure that nobody had followed or seen us. “Thanks for the help, listen, I have to tell you something.” I told him about last night, because I told him everything, and as I brought out the white amulet, he gasped. He already knew that I was special, but not this much. We sat there talking for a long time, about what we would have to do in our lives, when I felt a strange presence take over him.

“I have something to say, but you have to be very open minded about this, okay?” I simply nodded my head, wondering what was coming to me. “Well, I was thinking why don’t you and me go look for the amulets together?” I just looked back at him, without any reaction whatsoever. That would have been a good idea, but the problem is the remaining six amulets are scattered over the 3 kingdoms by the true owner, who has long been dead, it was said that whoever sought the power and would be able to conquer it would have to find them first. “But Kestn I’m only 16 and you 17, do you think well be able to cross the rivers, swamps, hills, and mountains that separate the kingdoms?” It looked like he was thinking hard about this, and waited for several minutes before he said “Just promise me you’ll think about it okay?” Then he left without another word.

He left me to walk back to the castle by myself, and so I did, I politely nodded at some of the guests and was hoping to make it back to my room, if I hadn’t seen my father gesturing to me, to come and meet his old friend. I walked up slowly, wondering how long this was going to take. “Hello young lady, pleasure to meet you” I tried to reply politely, “the pleasure is mines sir.” He chuckled delightfully while saying “you’re everything your father said you are”, as I gave my father an accusing look, I notice the badge of the kingdom of Harmony on the other Kings chest, “How would you like to come and live at the palace of tranquility? I mean as the wife of the prince” He finished.

I just stood there, frozen, staring blankly at him, and at the words that he spoke. From my frozen mode, came a pounding rush of thoughts, my life here, the amulets, Tenma, Kestn, I could feel everyone’s eyes on me waiting for my reply, but they wouldn’t here it… I ran from the room, letting my numbness let go of me, I scampered up three flights of stairs, ran into my room, shut the door, and jumped on my bed. I don’t know how long I laid there sprawled on my mattress, but when I awoke it was dark outside. The events of the previous hours rushed back to me. Oh no…. what am I going to do, I can’t stay here anymore. My friend’s faces vividly appeared in my mind, Kestn, his offer…

I started packing immediately, everything I would need, clothes, my life savings, and I had just enough time to run into the kitchens and get some dried peppered meat, and stale bread. The main doors were locked, and my bedroom window was too high. I looked desperately out the window, thinking my plans were being abashed by something so simple when I heard someone speak in a deep voice, “Not running away little princess, are you?” That familiar voice gave a comfort, only one person called me princess in that manner when I am disappointed. I saw Kestn, all the way down there, with a rope ladder, “Are you packed princess?” I didn’t have to ask how he knew, but he always did, I saw that he also carried a bag. I climbed down and we half walked, half tippy toed our way to the stables, where two beautiful mares were waiting for us, one with a coat of whitened gold, and a mane of silver, while the other had skin the color of midnight, but with the same silver mane. There yellow eyes gleamed down at us as we took their ropes. “Wow, you thought ahead didn’t you?” I said with a smile.

“Well someone had to, seeing you took so long to figure out what you had to do, so I took the liberty of preparing our needs for the expedition. Anyways I heard what happened, and am therefore satisfied with your decision.

“Why, don’t you want me to stay home, or at least have a new one??”

“You call this place a home? You are imprisoned against your own will, without knowing it and have been made to believe that you have everything you want. But as long as you remain here, you will never know what’s waiting for you past the maids and butlers, past the afternoon tea and royal acquaintances, past the gloomy and isolated towers of this castle that you call a home. Your going to have to forget this fantasy of a home and life that you are know leaving behind and think about what’s coming towards you” he said with a last breath.

We walked in silence for a while, listening to the soft sounds of the horse’s hooves as we walk alongside them. The orchards weren’t as bright right now as they were during the day. The wind would wrap itself against us with its feather-like touch around our necks, trying to sweep us away from our direction but we kept walking. The leaves whispered in our wake, from the nearby trees, rustling against each other. Wondering who was sneaking off at this time of night. The silence of the moonlight gave me a ringing sound in my ears; I felt like I was going to have to stay like that forever, until Kestn finally spoke, “do you think what were doing id the right thing? I mean something that we won’t regret later? Because I don’t think were that prepared for what’s coming our way” I took a while to let his words sink in… what were we really doing? Running away from our homes in the middle of the night? Could this be the right thing to do? I replied in slow, soft meaningless words that didn’t seem to comfort anybody, “I guess well have to find out”. I was getting tired of walking so much and by now we were almost leaving the orchards, I could see the soft glisten of the candles of the village that was ahead of us, the mud colored houses had an eerie look to it at night, with the occasional glow of the candles. Kestn, the horses and I made our way through the village slowly, often seeing bright colored eyes in the alleyways. The cats in this village were praised for there stealthy ways and rich coats of fur. We kept on walking, trying to get through this village that seemed to be getting longer the more we walked, Kestn took a quick glance back and hurriedly looked forward again. “Izabella” he whispered, “Were being followed. Keep calm, don’t look back. Play along with me”. Panic fled through my veins but yet I felt safe with Kestn. He slowly and stealthily put his hand in his pocket and handed me a sharp bladed knife. He took out a more spear-like with strange embodiments on it. He abruptly stopped in his place and grabbed my elbow to stop me. We waited there looking at each other for about a minute when behind me someone lurched out of a large trash bin and grabbed me by the neck. Fear was beating in my heart. But Kestn didn’t move at all he just stood there and stared at the situation. “Hand me your loot, the bearded man said with his deep yet squeaky voice. Surprisingly Kestn just walked forward and the man gave him a warning of hurting me when I started to feel the air leaving my mouth. It was getting really hard to breathe with the robbers fingers clasped over my air pipes. Kestn saw my color become pale and he lowered his knife and it in to his pocked then he raised his arms throwing something very small skinny and sharp at the man. He nearly missed my head but it hit the other mans throat as he fell I fell with him. His hand released from my throat I was finally able to breathe, my heart pumping hard in fright and relieve. Kestn helped me get up. I was violently shaking now my face pearly white. Kestn held me in his arms silently until the shaking decreased, I could feel his heart pounding against my head. He let go and I thanked him, we kept on walking and at last we cleared the village. Now able to speak again I asked Kestn where he was planning to go.

“I thought we could stop at a deserted ravine for the night. But first we must find one. I’m getting tired. Who do you think sent that man after us?” He added. “I’m not sure but that frightened me. This isn’t exactly safe. Running away from a castle and going of on a journey all by ourselves. Especially at night” I said with a last breathe.

“Don’t worry princess, your not alone, well yet at least.” Laughter and relieve followed this. I remembered who I was with, my lifetime best friend.

Meanwhile back at the castle dawn was approaching. . . . . . . .

Tenma was knocking on the door to the empty bedroom. “Oh come on darling, you don’t have to leave here just yet. Talk it over with the king.” More frantic knocking came from the door but this time a deeper voice said "Annabella, I order you to come out.” Her father’s voice rang and echoed off the walls of the empty room. Then in a lower voice it said, “We don’t have a choice, break the lock.” There was a loud click and Tenma rushed into the deserted room and made a run for the fluffed up lump of a blanket only to find that nobody was under it.

“She’s gone, sir, she’s gone!!!”

“What are you talking about?”

“Sir, she’s not here, she probably left last night, but how? She’s on the third floor. Oh my poor child, she’s all alone now!”

Although the king didn’t exactly love his daughter the way a father should, if he didn’t take immediate action his daughter would be found and held for ransom, or the citizens would think this wasn’t a righteous king. So the king ordered his team of members to inform the villagers of the kingdom would get a 30,000 glone {unit of money used in the kingdom, 1 glone =7 dollars} reward. A frantic search was taking place…

Meanwhile…

“How much farther do we have to ride?” I asked Kestn in a very whiny voice, as if I was being dragged into doing this. “I told you Izabella, you have to be patient we’ll stop in the next village”, he answered me as if he was talking to a frustrated 4-year-old. “Hand me the map” he added. I bent over the side of my horse, and started rummaging around in one of the pockets of the saddle until I felt parchment. I straightened up and handed the map to Kestn. He took it from me and opened it and used the horses’ neck to support it. He looked up and saw that I was staring at him because he had a weary look in his hazel eyes which glowed green in the warm sun. “What’s the matter?” I asked. But he didn’t answer. He just looked ahead, as if in deep concentration. Moments went on in silence as I stared quizzically stared ahead. Finally a sigh from Kestn broke the silence. “There’s a problem” he said heavily. I looked at him with innocent eyes wondering what I’ve done. “Annabella, I think the villages might be informed, to look for you.” He finished. “Why would you think that?” I asked sweetly. “Well, incase your daydreams haven’t also made you blind, look around, your picture is hung up everywhere. We’re going to have to go around the village this may take the whole night” He finished. “Oh, fine” I said sheepishly while my upper cheeks began to turn into a rosy pink.

So that’s what we did, we rode the horses as silently as possible around the village in the warm late summer night. It took much longer than I anticipated but I did not complain and neither did Kestn. I longed for the protection of a roof over my head and having a lantern blazing warmly on my studying desk and writing. But I would rather be taking this trip with Kestn any day than having to marry that worthless stupid prince as my husband.

Chapter 3

A sharp pain hit my elbow. “Oh just 10 more minutes Tenma.” I mumbled. “Well honey its getting late, and you know your going to be late for your studies.” Said a mimicked voice. I quickly sat up and looked around not to find myself lying on my warm comfortable mattress but on the cold, rough dirt floor. Looking around a little more, through the entrance of the dome-like cave I saw Kestn on his horse with a small bag over his shoulder, sniggering. I fell back on my backside hard and closed my eyes. I thought the events of the past few days were a dream. I heard a shuffle as Kestn came down from the horse and stood near where my hands laid spread out. “Kestn?”

“Annabella” he replied.

“I’m hungry.”

“Really now, Annabella? You didn’t to seem have realized it but you’re a heavy sleep walker. And if I wasn’t standing guard outside you would have fallen off into the gorge below us. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I was wondering how much food could a girl fill in her stomach without realizing she’s finished our whole food supply that was supposed to last us for another week?”

My tummy grumbled and we both fell to the ground laughing, week-kneed and breathless. “But Kestn I’m hungry” I said when I finally caught my breath after several painful minutes. “Well since you finished all that was left, I decided to go and look for something. I found more than I bargained for Izabella. I found some scarlet berries on a rather big thorny bush.”

“You know Kestn I can pick berries, too, it’s a common talent” I said.

“Its what I found when I reached in rather deep, a hard stone wall, ever seen one behind a poison berry bush?” he finished exaggerated as I threw the berries to the ground that I was slowly taking to my mouth. “So what’s so special about a stone wall?” I said as I got up again and clapped my hands together to remove the dust. “well its more the rough wooden door more than the stone wall. Do you know what that means?” He finished.

“That we can find a beaver with really strong teeth that doesn’t like the water?” I grimaced. “Now really, Annabella, think. You can’t be this slow. Somebody must know that no one would go picking poison berries, so that would be a good place to hide something. You know what that thing is?” he said with more anticipation than before. He smiled as understanding slowly dawned on my face.

“Are you sure its here Kestn?” I asked minutes later as we walked together to the place he found the berries. “The last time I’m going to say it I Annabella, it’s underneath a steep cliff and believe me you’ll notice it once were there.

And so I did. I was bewildered. There was a brown muddy cliff with rocks that came out occasionally out of it, and it slowly turned into smooth gray rock. And a little below the rock was a magnificent bush of bright red berries each round with a minuscule yellow dot on them hung on stems of truest dark green. It looked like Christmas. Then I noticed the gleaming thorns each about one and a half inches glowing in a rusty golden color. It looked like nature gone wild. It went in pretty deep and I sat down in the dust in front of the bush, trying to breathe in the sight in front of me. Kestn just stood there knowing what I was trying to do and leaned against the wall next to me. I was analyzing the sight, and at the same time felt like I was being analyzed, and as I looked to the left I saw Kestn with a hard concentrating look on his face that made me slightly blush as he revealed a small smile in return. I went back to concentrating on the bush. I closed my pale gray oval eyes, and moved the slightly curled black hair out of my snow white skin and let it drop onto my back.

I breathed in deeply taking in my surroundings. The surroundings which started slowly to fade. And I felt my spirit leave my body back on the ground and it took a glance at Kestn still standing there with one foot set against the rock behind him, and then at myself breathing slightly through my small nose. I looked forward and went towards the bush, with out the thorns harming me I pushed them away and Kestn noticed as he let out a small gasp of awe. They moved out of my way making rustling noises at the most faint touch of my fingers. The door emerged. It was made of rough wood bark. I went forward and slightly touched it but it didn’t open. I gave it an encouraging push but with no result. I concentrated harder, my mind set, and gave a forceful nudge but nothing happened. I realized this would take more than command. I centered my energy and mind equally on the door and heard a little crack as I felt my energy and power seep through my skin and leaving me helpless……..

“Annabella! Anna! Are you alright? Get up, you did it! The door has opened, get up” I heard Kestn’s voice ringing rather far away. When I didn’t answer, I heard some faint mumblings from his mouth in a language I didn’t recognize as I was slowly lifted from the comfortable darkness into the dazzling sunlight and to find myself half sitting up in his arms. I looked up and saw his eyes glowing in enjoyment. So I got up and weakly looked towards the rose bush, the amulet hadn’t come out; I was completely drained of energy just with the opening of the door.

I got up with Kestn’s help and brushed the dust off myself. Together we walked through the door that was only four feet high and 2 feet wide. It was a tight cram with both of us in the 4 by 3 room. I looked around but nothing was here. Kestn tried moving around a bit because he came in after me and he accidentally shut the door with his back turned to it. He stopped shuffling, and we both listened and a horrible feeling quenched my insides; we were moving, I fell to the ground while Kestn just stood as if nothing was going on. And just as suddenly as it started the movement stopped. I grabbed Kestn’s arm tightly, as I used it for support to stand back up digging my fingernails in with fright. I gained my balance, and just as I did a gaping hole appeared in the middle, making Kestn and I lean as hard as possible against the walls. I just stood there paralyzed by the suddenness of the changes while Kestn bravely stopped leaning against the dirt walls and peered into the hole. “It’s a tube. It looks like a slide, are you ready?”

“Huh? What are you talking about? What do you mean?” I gasped out, in one breath. “Oh Annabella you know what I mean. For this.” And with out another word he just jumped in to the gaping hole, leaving me, and then as if his stupid act gave me strength, without hesitation I followed.

~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At the same time, back at the castle training grounds stood captain Kruner, Looking down at his cadets, with cold black lifeless eyes that gleamed hungrily. He abruptly barked out in a harsh violent voice. “You know what to do, You have a mission to find the princess before anyone else does. You report to me and only to me. ” He paused to lick his vein lined lips. Then continued “You will be separated into comand groups, each of you assigned with a different location, you bring the princess back alive, as for her companion either way would make no difference. You will be in disguise, no one is to know of your true identities, understood?!!"
"Sir, yes Sir" answered the crowd of 300 men.
"Dissmissed!", shouted captain Kruner, as he walked out of the training grounds. There, waiting at the door that leads to the castle grounds was King Garthus the first, mearly nodding as Captain Kruner came up to him to give details on the plans. They ajourned to the banquet hall, met there by Prince Garthus the second. There they sat at a smaller table and started discussing the matters of Princess Isabella.
"She's not alone, we know that for sure" started Captain Kruner.
"How can you be so sure of that?" Rebudled Prince Garthus.
"Well two horses were taken out of the stables, and the thieves in disguise i sent said she was seen with a male at the time of the attack, but the other one didn't come back alive, it seems Princess Annabaella has a guard with her."
"Is that a good thing?"
"It depends on the strength and willingness of the two."
"Well we know that they're not going to be willing to come back here" said King Garthus, speaking for the first time, "They specifacally ran away because of the fact that we were going to give Annabella away, I shouldn't have been so thoughtless as to tell Isabella right then, this marriage is crucial so that the Kingdom of Harmony could keep care of our grounds as we try to overthrow the Kingdom of Tranquility. Our plans will have to be postponed."
All three men got up and were heading to the exits when a little girl came in, looking red in the face as she handed the King a telegram, and scurried back out. The king looked down at the envelope in his hand, his old yet handsome features screwed up in a scowl. He slowly put his rough hands to the corner of the envelope and started opening it, as he did a round coin fell to the floor. The King didn't mind the coin at first, he just read the letter that was written in an elegant handwriting, It said :
Greetings to the current king,
I have sent this message so you will have been informed that Prinicess Annabella is being taken care of. You should not be worried or care for her whereabouits. It will be considered wise if you don't send anyone after her, for i garuntee you they will not be returning. This journey is one that should be embarked on without outside help. Let it happen, you won't be able to stop it.
-S.H.K.
{P.S. I think you will remember the uses of the coin.}
The King let out a heavy sigh, but not one of defeat, he picked the coin up and closely examined it. It was as big as the palm of a toddlers hand, a rustic gold color with a picture of a diamond in the middle. Two circles were around it, and in between them were strange symbols, a kind of writing in an unrecognized language. The king silently put both into his pockets and proceeded down the steps leading from the exit. The other two followed, without asking questions.
"Send the soldiers out by evening" King Garthus told Captain Kruner in a heavy voice.
Chapter 4
I was sliding down a narrow tube, smooth cold stone under me, and the dark figure of Kestn ahead of me. I felt blank as i heard Kestn land with a thump and soon after him was me on the gronud. I stood up and noticed that the ground was the same cold stone of the tube. Looking around, I saw that the walls were high and rough, i couldn't see the cieling though. There were three passage ways out of the hall, I looked uncertainly up at Kestn who was observing our surroundings. He silently gestured to the three passages and and said in a hollow voice "Your choice?"
I moved forward toward the one nearest me, the left one. Kestn was following me and as I was about to step through it, he pulled me back, and kicked some rocks into it. After a couple seconds we heard the rocks land.
"Well, that went well. You choose next." I said.
Kestn went towards the one in the middle and walked in, i followed hesitantly. It seemed as if he knew what he was doing. "Keep quiet Annabella."
And so i did, everything was pitch black, I had no idea how Kestn could see where he was going.
"Kestn..." I said in a whisper, he quickly hushed me. I could feel him turn around and face me. He came close enough for me to hear his light, quick breathing. I felt my stomach tighten. He took his hands up to my face and put his fingers over my eyes and brushing my cheek as he turned around once again. That was strange because whatever kestn did, now i could see clearly but in a dark turqoise light. There were tall pillars of a lighter turqoise on eiher sides, walls weren't visible. This seemed to stretch on for quite a bit. So we silenltly continued down our path. Kestn was ahead of me, and after several minutes of walking, he slowed down a bit as we saw the end, It was a wall. A blank wall. But in the center chained to it was a figure of a girl around my age, with her face down and her hair covering it. Her dress was tattered. I stood back, but Kestn moved forward and whispered breathlessly "Ilana". Kestn moved closer still, in arms reach of her. I've never seen this side of Kestn before. There was so much i didn't know about him, and i started to get uncomfortable.
I moved a little bit to the side for a better view, Kestn was reaching his hand up to her face, Ilana did he say? His fingers rested on her slupmed chin and he rasied it. I could see a sallaw face, dark clear skin, and her wavy auburn hair seemed to fall to her waist. Kestn was giving her a hard gaze, I dont know if the turqoise shade of everything was deceiving my sight or if his eyes glowed for a moment, but abruptly the chains let go and she fell forward on to him. Kestn caught her and gently let her down to the ground. He looked to the corner in which i have slowly backed away to, and said "Come here Annabella, she needs help.", in a deeper voice than was usually his.
I slowly started walking towards them and kneeled at his side. He was holding both of her hands in his. I tied my hair back as some of it fell onto my face, and opened my bag to take out a round container with water in it. Kestn helped her sit down, even though she was unconcious. I brought the water up to her mouth and i slowly tipped some in, she swallowed and started stirring as i backed away. She let out a barley audiable gasp and sat up. Her eyes surprised me. They were dark green with yellow encrusted in it. She was enchanting. She looked around at me and Kestn, and putting one of her slender arms on Kestn's shoulder and started to stand. I quickly went to her aid, and helped her up. She stood and I looked up at her, because she was slightly taller than me she was lookindg down. I handed her some more water and she drank, Kestn watching us. He started walking towards the exit and I stayed back to help the girl. So slowly we half limped towards were we came in, as we reached our original entrance we came back into the gray room and my sight came back to normal. Ilana sat down on the edge of the tube. I looked questioningly at Kestn.
He simply stated " She can help us, she's a friend." I have full trust in Kestn so I accepted it. We waited around for a couple of minutes while nothing happened. I kept my distance from Ilana. She sighed, looked up at me, and back to Kestn as she said "Who is she?"
I was utterly bewildered. Her voice was like a sorrowful ballad, but i couldn't understand what she said. She was'nt speaking in English.
"You speak her tongue, too?" She added, as i hestantly looked at Kestn.
He replied in the same language, "I needed her to get to you, she isn't useless, she opened the door. Her name is Annabella and she will be joining us on our journey."
"Kes...Kestn?" I said hestantly as i saw a look of forboding on Ilana's face. I didn't exactly like her yet, I agree she was intimidating.
"Annabella, this is Ilana, you too should be properly introduced. We will be looking for the amulets together." he said. I walked up to Ilana and shook her hand as she kept her dark golden look on me. It was all very awkward. She seemed weak and tired, but i sensed an aura of determined strength around her. She got up and walked towards Kestn, and said in that starnge yet familiar language to Kestn, "Good choice if she's the one that got the door opened. I can feel her power, it's hidden in her emotions. The amulet is this way." She said as she headed towards the last passage.
Kestn translated by saying "The amulet is through there. She'll get it herself, just wait here with me."
It was the first time me and Kestn were alone since i've met Ilana. A million questions were running through my mind but i couldn't catch any of them. So I just burst out "Kestn what's happening? Who is she? What language is that? How do you know whats going on?!"
He came towards me, looked me in my eyes and said in one breath "She's an old friend and she can help us find the amulets, she's not from around here. You can trust her"
I didn't know what was going on. I guess I felt hurt that i didn't know about these things, and taken aback with this sudden presense of Ilana. While waiting for her to come back, Kestn explained that the middle passage way was a trap for others seeking the amulets, and Ilana got caught up when she fell for it. About an hour later Ilana came back holding something covered in a dark cloth, and as she came into the hall we were in, she sat in the middle of the foor, and pulled out from an inner pocket another cloth. I came closer, and as she opened the dark cloth a glowing came and when She pulled the cloth completely off, out came another amulet. But not white like the one i had tied around my neck. This one was a deep blue. It looked as if you were looking into the depth of the ocean. Then Ilana unraveled the other lumpy cloth and an amulet of rich brown appeared, and the glowing increased as they were set next to eachother.
Ilana told Kestn something, and then Kestn told me to bring my amulet out. I was uncomfortable with revieling it so I didn't take it off. I just let it hang around my neck and as it faintly glowed Ilana stood up and came close to me and held it in her hands, her mistyfing eyes wide.
"The white amulet. The amulet of guidance. How did she get it! This one looks for the owner, it can't be found by anyone." She breathed over her shoulder at Kestn.
"May it be better she learn what it does and it's powers by herself." Kestn answered.
I still didn't understand the graceful way they would talk to eachother, and by this point it was getting exagerating. Interuppting my thoughts, Kestn said, "Well there's four left then."
This fact struck me as odd, already three were with us.How hard could it be to find the rest? We were going to find out.
Chapter 5
Hey, i'm 15 years old and i've started writing a book, i want to be an author and i need opinions?
opinions on what dear?
In theory, you have just as much of a chance of being an author as the next person. It takes heart, a good story, and good writing skills. And a thick skin, as you'll be faced with many rejections before you get one acceptance.
Stick with it!
Reply:to get published go to outskirtspress.com or xlibris.com Report It
Reply:alot of good authors started out young plus i like the story Report It
Reply:Opinions regarding what?
Reply:Not to flame or attack you in any way, but your question isn't really structured properly. And if you want to be a writer, most people who read your work will throw your work away at laziness like that.
But if you want to be an author, do the Stephen King method. Read for four hours a day, and write for four hours a day. It may be a little extreme, but good work takes patience and practice!
Good luck!
Reply:As an author, you don't need opinions, you need to observe. Watch what people do and try and put yourself in their shoes. This is key to being able to really bring your characters into life and giving each one their own personality and quirks. As an author, you don't need opinions, you need to research. Good novels have well researched settings and background. It is kinda like being a detective in a way. I know those may not be the answers you seek, but quality of writing dictate the quality of response. Finally, do not go through Lulu. Once a book is published like this, it looses market value. First impression counts. If your book's first impression is through Lulu or similar venue it rarely recovers and finds a home in bookstores or get picked by other publishers.
Reply:well my dear it depends on what route you want to go. if you want a quick, yet reliable fix then i would use Lulu. To publish your book is actually free and you can attempt to market your book through the web. Regardless I highly recommend that before you publish your book, have someone to thoroughly edit it for you. Edit it for grammar/punctuation but also for content. what ruins a great book is grammatical errors.
also another thing to consider is your cover art. you'll want something that will attract your readers to even want to pick up your book. if you go with lulu, the do have their own free cover art that you can pick from, but there are other resources out there that you can use for your own cover art.
lastly, make sure you send your book off to the national library of congress for copyrighting. take it from me, you'll be glad you did.
i hope this helps. if you have any other questions, please feel free to let me know. I'd be glad to answer them for you.
Reply:The hardest thing about writing a book is keeping the story to yourself before getting it published. Get someone you trust to help you find a reputable publisher who can guide you through the process.
Reply:Go you. I'm 14 and I am also a writer(well I'm trying to be) and I think it is great that you are writing. But what do you want opinions on?
Reply:Read, read, read, and read.
Reading will improve your writing.
