Fall.....?

OK ladies,

so here's what happened..

I was walking briskly towards my house, and my friends yelled my name from outside ( I live in the back house.) So as I turned around, my ankle stumbled (?clumsy??) and I fell. I caught most of myself with my hand (or palm) and I slightly landed on my hip. Do you think I did any damage to my baby? I know falls don't really cause miscarriages at first, but what about at 14 wks.. ? It's just been on my mind all day and I'm seriously sort of worried.

Serious answers please and thank you.

Fall.....?
I wouldn't worry so much If i were you.

I am sure the baby is fine, babies are very well cushioned in the uterus and it would be difficult to do any harm to it. Especially as early along as you are. Even women who find out that they are pregnant and do not want the baby and fall down steps are unlikely to have harmed the baby. So unless it is accompanied by cramping, backpain, and bleeding. I wouldn't worry. Right now im 27 weeks pregnant. I tripped and fell so many times just out of plain clumsiness. But, I knew baby was well protected in his home :). If your still worried though you can always talk to your health provider and they can do an exam and check the heartbeat to see if everything is okay. But , personally you have nothing to worry about.
Reply:You'd know by now if there was something wrong with the baby, like having a lot of pain and bleeding. I agree that if you are worried go to the doctor. They understand. The baby is in a very well protected home. It would take a lot of blunt force to hurt it. Even so to make yourself at ease go to the doctor. There is nothing like worrying yourself into stress. I fell when I was about 8 months with my second child. I fell on my stomach but caught most of myself on my hands and knees ( I was huge) I cried but not because of pain but of embarrassment. I knew she was fine, but a doctor visit won't hurt a thing, it well put your mind at rest. And when you are pregnant you need all that you can get.
Reply:It most likely did no harm. Baby is very well protected by the amniotic fluid. The only warning I would give is to watch for period like cramping, extra watery fluid, and bleeding. I did the exact same thing at 7 months pregnant and baby has been fine. I fell again the other day right on my butt. I went to the E.R. and everything was fine also. Try not to stress too bad, and good luck.
Reply:My sister moved to Montana during her pregnancy with my niece and slipped on the ice on the trip there. She was in late second or early third trimester. She actually fell on her belly, but everything was fine. It wouldn't hurt to call the doctor and get it checked out, just for your state of mind. However, I think babies are pretty resilient and our bodies do a lot to protect them.
Reply:i think that you are probably and that the baby is ok but i know the doctors still like to check you and the baby out to make sure everything is ok so i would call the ob part of the hospital and ask them what they want you to do and good luck with baby
Reply:that baby is in the most protected spot of your body, it is probably fine, while you are the one that is bruised, shaken and probably in shock. You did not land on your belly, so you should be fine.

If you are at all worried, contact your healthprovider.
Reply:PLEASE! if you have any doubt on urgent and serious things like that, don't ever come to yahoo answers first. Your doctor must be the first person that comes to your mind, and that you should tell him everything in details. He'll know what to do.
Reply:well i think if you fill fine you gonna be fine but if your that worried call your dr and tell him/her what had happend and you and worried they will tell you and even give you and altrasound
Reply:You should be fine. The baby is surrounded pretty good with fluid. I wouldn't worry unless you fell on your belly. You could visit your doctor just to be sure.
Reply:I'm sure everything is just fine but I'd call your Dr. for an ultrasound just to be sure. As long as your not having any strong cramping or bleeding everything is most likely fine. Bless!
Reply:I think u should be fine, but i would definately go to the dr and get an ultrasound done and make sure everything is ok.

take better care of urself.

good luck.
Reply:Don't worry about it, your baby is too small to even know whats goin on at 14 weeks.
Reply:im 99% sure that the baby is fine. dont worry about it, but if u really cant stop worrying u could go see ur doc and ask him
